Off a beaten path, nestiled between a hazy sea and cozy sand dunes, lies a small wooden town on stilts.

The Atlantic Ocean and the sky seem to fold into each other melting lazily at the horizon, laid back, falling onto and into itself.

Each house in Punta del Diablo has it's own way of life, a sporadic and leaky charm of a fishing village turned bohemian DIY in the sand. It's almost untouched, it feels like a place that was never told what to do or how to do it, it evolved well enough alone.

Carnival. A long affair in South America and even longer in Uruguay. Even a small town like Punta del Diablo goes hard, and with a slight bow to the tourists, it offers a variety of expression and simple, effective, entertainment.

At night the main streets erupt, it's a small place with many curious strangers and one can stroll slightly drunk through an amusing collection of market stores and trinket stalls selling the same wears and slightly brused fruit.

The local folks work hard and offer their town with a smile and hard work, relaxed and full of atmosphere Punta del Diablo is a hidden diamond within a hidden gem.
